Frequently Asked Questions
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. I work from home, alone, so nobody can hear our conversation and it will stay between the two of us. One caveat: If you mention possible harm to yourself or others, I have a responsibility to connect you with specialists who offer support.
What is your refund policy?
All payments for services are final, and we do not offer refunds. My services require a significant investment of time, energy, and expertise to provide personalized guidance. Because of this, all sales are final once the service begins.
I am dedicated to providing you with high-quality, personalized support to help you reach your goals. If you have any concerns along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to listen and work through them with you!
What is the difference between an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) and a Financial Advisor (FA) or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP)?
As an AFC, I can help with basic money skills and financial issues, while FAs and CFPs focus on long-term wealth growth and investments. I cannot provide Legal, Tax, or Investment advice due to the specialized licensure requirements; however, I have resources to connect you with an individual proficient in these areas.
How do I know if financial coaching is right for me?
If you're looking to improve your financial habits, reach specific money goals, or gain confidence in managing your finances, coaching can be very beneficial.
Where do coaching sessions take place?
Sessions are conducted virtually via video call (Zoom or Google Meet) for your convenience. In-person meetings may be available in certain circumstances.
How long is a typical coaching session?
Individual sessions are capped at one hour but can be adjusted to a shorter time period based on your needs and the complexity of topics covered.
How often should I schedule coaching sessions?
The frequency of sessions depends on your goals and needs. We'll discuss the best schedule for you during our initial consultation.
Do I need to prepare anything before our first session?
It's helpful to have a general idea of your financial goals and current financial situation. We'll discuss specifics during our first session.
What kind of effort is required on my part?
Show up, commit to doing the assigned homework, and share openly and honestly about your finances.
I will provide financial education, support tools, and accountability. I will not tell you what to do with your money; rather, I am a partner who helps you weigh the pros and cons of decisions that are yours to make.
